Learning Writing, Sounds, and Grammar

Learning a language means getting familiar with lots of new things. Your new language may include speech sounds that your native language doesn't use. You may have to learn a new alphabet, or a non-alphabetic writing system. Even if your new language does use a familiar script, the letters may not correspond to the same sounds you're used to. Maybe the language you're learning uses verb tenses that aren't a part of your first language, or structures sentences differently. This section offers tips and techniques for learning to recognize and pronounce new sounds, read and write in a new script, and memorize new grammar rules.
