Job Interview (Advanced)
Practice on Your Own
Imagine you have a job interview. You are applying to work in a country where the language is spoken. Decide what kind of job you would like to do. When you go for the interview, the interviewer asks you questions and you answer accordingly.
- The interviewer may ask you about your areas of expertise, your interests, your strengths and weaknesses, your past work experience, etc.
- The interviewer will also ask you the reason that you are interested in that particular job and why you think you are the best candidate for the position.
- You should be prepared to tell the interviewer how you will improve the company/department if you are hired.
Practice in Conversation Session
- Be prepared to tell your conversation partner and classmates what kind of work you are applying to do in a country where the language is spoken.
- Have a conversation where your conversation partner or a classmate asks you what you are planning to do in that country and why you want to do it.
- Be prepared to role play a job interview. Your role play partner will be the interviewer and you will be the interviewee.
- Have a discussion with your conversation partner and classmates about cultural etiquette that you need to keep in mind as an interviewer or interviewee.
