The Internet
The Internet business is booming in Turkey, especially in big cities and around universities. In small towns and more rural areas, however, it may still be difficult to locate an internet cafe. To check e-mail or browse the web, find an internet cafe, go in, pay by the hour and log on. Although internet browsing is not costly - currently about the Turkish Lira equivalent of one dollar per hour - be aware that other services such as printing a page from online can cost as much as a dollar. At the moment, there are no age limits set for usage. You may be surprised by the number of kids and young teenagers who are excitedly playing online games with each other in the same Internet cafe! These cafes are open long hours, even around the clock. The vocabulary is English-oriented.
