Restrooms
Public restroom facilities are plentiful. Pay the attendant; a fee of 1 baht is customary. Tipping in addition to the fee is not necessary. In order to save water, many Thai toilets are not flushed using a standard handle mechanism. Instead the toilet is flushed by scooping water with a dipper from a nearby container and using the water to flush out the toilet bowl. Also, paper towels are rarely found in public restrooms since hands dry quickly in hot weather.
