Asking for Directions

A fruit stand vendor points off camera, giving directions to a woman asking for directions

In most colonial cities in Mexico, streets run parallel and perpendicular to each other, so it is fairly easy to find your way around. It is important to know, however, that not all streets are labeled. Maps are available at the tourist information center, but they do not contain information about public transportation. It is acceptable, and often most helpful, to ask directions from a passerby on the street.
