Basic Communications in Greece

Using a Telephone

A person using a pay phone

In Greece, most homes have a telephone that is capable of making both local and long distance calls. Pay phones are easy to find, and now operate solely with telephone cards for sale at the kiosks. On the islands, there are usually one or two pay phones in every village. Cell phones have gained popularity in Greece, but seem to be less commonly used on the islands.
