In Brazil the week starts on Sunday and runs through Saturday. The proper way to write the date is with the day preceding the month. For example, one would write 25/12/02 or 25 de dezembro.

All major Christian holidays are observed. Christian holidays with variable dates include Easter, Carnaval, Cinzas, Paixão de Cristo.
