Basic Communications in Argentina

Using the Telephone

A public phone sign

Most families in Argentina have a land line or a cell phone and many have both. For travelers or those with no telephones, there are kiosks that consist of a small room with a number of telephones, fax machines, and occasionally a computer for checking email. One makes the phone call (local, national or international) first and pays the attendant afterward. Although pay phones are easy to find, they are frequently out of order.
