Questions
Describe what steps you need to take to be ready for your first conversation session.
Look at a Spoken Arabic course syllabus that is currently online. Your actual syllabus may have different assignments and course requirements, but the organization of the syllabus will be similar. Read over Assignment 1 on the syllabus. Then make a list of FIVE study activities that you could do on your own to prepare for a conversation session based on Assignment 1.
What do you do if you have trouble getting your textbook, accessing multimedia materials, or have questions about final evaluation scheduling?
Describe what happens if you miss a session. Do you already know of any factors which may cause you to be absent? You should discuss these with the program staff before the start of the semester.
What is a self-assessment report, when are self-assessment reports submitted, and how much do self-assessment reports contribute to your final grade?
Study the course requirements and grading policy on your syllabus. Make note of questions you have about any of the following:
  1. the course content you are responsible for when it comes time for final evaluations;
  2. the amount of time you should plan to commit to independent study and practice;
  3. when the weekly self-assessments are due;
  4. what type of evaluations will take place and what percentage of your grade is determined by the evaluations.
