Travel Between Cities

A taxi stop

One can either use a bus or hire a taxicab or a car with a driver to travel between cities. Some cities have small airports primarily used by business travelers. When traveling by bus, one should choose privately owned companies. Buses run with reasonable frequency, usually at least twice per day between major cities. One finds schedule information by calling or going to the station.

Buses are reasonably clean and stop at certain points between cities. One needs to be prepared for highly unsanitary rest room conditions at these stops. One can, however, wander into wooded areas if necessary, and it is possible to ask bus drivers to make stops near such areas. Vendors sell freshly cooked food at the rest stops, which tourists are encouraged to avoid. Many of the gas stations have commercially prepared and wrapped foods, which are a preferable choice.
