Asking for Directions

A sign for a 'tourist service center'

Most major business and tourist areas will have Tourist Service Centers. These centers have brochures, signs, and posters regarding hotels, restaurants, and tourist sites. When trying to find places, one may stop someone on the street to ask for directions. Young people will be more likely to speak English. Street maps are not much used because of the many small side streets that are hard to locate on a map. Bus route maps can also be confusing--it may be easier to ask a person for route information.
