Pedestrians

A pedestrian crossing sign

Pedestrians must take special care when crossing streets in the cities. Although drivers generally stop for red lights and pedestrian crossings, one must still watch for cars. There are many times when there won’t be a traffic light, and in the neighborhoods, there are no crossing lights.

Streets tend to be well marked with street signs, but often not in square blocks. One may frequently have to stop and ask for directions. It is best to ask shopkeepers and police for directions.
