Asking for Directions

A person receiving directions

Tourism is a second largest industry in the Kenyan economy, and there is much warmth and hospitality reserved for travelers. For this reason, it is perfectly acceptable to ask directions of a native Kenyan with the chance that questions will be met with a friendly and helpful response. However, it is still good to be cautious on the streets. The police are probably the safest and most appropriate individuals to approach for help. In Nairobi and in major towns such as Mombasa and Nakuru, one will find tourism centers as well as travel agencies that offer plenty of maps and information. As well, one can always ask for directions and other pertinent information at any of the large hotels.
