Slovak in Slovakia

Lodging

Hotels in Slovakia range from the most luxurious, such as the Carlton in Bratislava, to youth hostels, which are housed in university dormitories. There aren’t really any chain hotels. Dormitory youth hostels offer clean, safe and affordable lodging, food service, and internet access to students and non-students. In addition, in mountain regions with a large tourist trade, many families offer rooms in their house for very reasonable prices that include breakfast. Such vacancies are recognizable by the German “ZIMMER FREI” signs, reflecting the fact that a great number of tourists are German-speaking.

To look for temporary apartments, one should consult the Internet and the newspaper. Rental apartments are handled at real estate offices.
