Lodging

A hotel

Lodgings in Serbia range from large international hotel chains to single rooms in private residences. The more luxurious hotels offer the usual amenities of private bathroom, telephone, and room service. There may also be a restaurant as well as a ballroom and occasionally even a casino. Less expensive hotels are found easily throughout the cities and towns. Rates always differ for foreigners. One can assume that most hotels accept credit cards, but it is a good idea to check in advance.

Motels can be found on the highways, and generally offer a private room with a bath. Usually there is a place to eat nearby. For someone wanting a longer stay, it is possible to rent a room in a private home by consulting classified advertising in the local newspaper. Agencies are also available to help travelers find rooms and apartments for short periods of time. Again, foreigners will generally pay a higher, yet still reasonable, rate.
