Traveling by Bus

A bus terminal

Privately owned companies provide all bus services between cities within Jordan as well as routes to other nearby countries. International companies sell tickets in advance, run on set schedules, and may feature air-conditioned buses.

As an alternative to the bus, public service taxis also provide transportation to destinations within the country. They do not sell tickets ahead of time, but rather, depart when full and all passengers have paid. Taxis can also be used to travel to and from nearby countries. These spacious cars also wait until they are full to depart. As in other countries, traveling by taxi is more expensive than traveling by bus.
