Indonesian in Indonesia
The Post Office
At the post office it is possible to mail letters and packages, as well as to send and receive money. The cost of sending a letter in Indonesia depends on how far away the destination is and the weight of the package. The post office clerk will tell you what the cost is and which stamps to use. For posting stamped letters, the red mail boxes on the street are usually conveniently located. Service is generally reliable. When mailed within the country letters and first class packages take two to seven days. International airmail letters take two weeks to and from the United States. Packages going by boat between the United States and Indonesia take two months.
