Banks and Money

A small sign for a bank called 'Geldautomat'

In Germany, banks tend to limit their hours depending on the size of the institution. During the week, it is not uncommon for a bank to be open until 4:00-6:00 p.m. with the exception of Wednesday afternoons, when all banks are closed. ATMs are commonly located outside of banks and at gas stations.
