  • Understanding of concepts of asking/giving directions in Wolof and of money
  • Reading and memorization of dialogues in section II, pp. 69-72

Getting Started

  • Read and listen to the vocabulary in Gaye Chapter IV, pp. 81-84.
  • Look over the dialogues on pp. 69-72 and identify new vocabulary.

Practice Exercises

  • Read, listen to, repeat and memorize the vocabulary in Gaye Chapter IV, pp. 81-84.
  • Read and memorize the information in section I , pp. 62-68, that outlines asking/giving directions, and money.
  • Read and listen to both dialogues in section II, pp. 69-72. Memorize one or two of the parts in the dialogues.

Conversation Session Preparation

  • Be prepared to participate in role playing situations that involve giving and receiving directional information.
  • Be prepared to talk about monetary values.
  • Be ready to take various roles in the 2 dialogues and act them out with classmates.
