Taxis are the most reliable and and time efficient method of transportation but also the most expensive. Compared to fares in the United States, however, they are still very much affordable. They are all yellow and are required to have a meter. Drivers will give receipts if asked. One may call a taxi to come to a location, find a taxi stand and wait for one to show up, or hail a cab from the street. Each neighborhood has at least one taxi company. Tips are not expected but are appreciated in certain situations such as when the driver helps with the luggage, shows exemplary service or has to wait for the rider during the ride while s/he is shopping or picking up something en route.
