Although Bratislava has an airport, it is small with a limited flight schedule. The easiest way to access Slovakia is to fly into Vienna, the capital of Austria, whose airport lies only about 50 miles south. Frequent buses and affordable taxis connect Vienna’s airport, Schwechat, and Bratislava.

Numerous travel agencies in Bratislava schedule regular, as well as discounted, student flights. These agencies also sell coach tickets to major European cities, which can also be bought at the bus terminals. It is not yet possible to buy air or bus tickets over the Internet in Slovakia.
