Since there are rarely public facilities in train, bus or gas stations, one must usually go to a restaurant or store. Most supermarkets have restrooms, and one can at least ask for a bathroom when in a smaller shop. At a restaurant, the restroom is normally for customers only, but if one inquires, the proprietor often will not refuse.
