Banks and Money

A bank sign

Banks are open from Monday through Friday, and occasionally on Saturday mornings. Depending on the bank, business hours begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at either noon or 3:00 p.m. ATMs are located only in front of banks and at large shopping malls; there are no drive-through ATMs. One can only withdraw cash at an ATM; it is not possible to perform other banking tasks. There is usually a large surcharge to withdraw money from an ATM using a credit card; the fee is less when using a bank card. Money can be changed at either banks or money changing bureaus. The bureaus tend to charge a higher fee for this service, so it is always useful to compare rates.
