Pharmacies

A white sign with blue letters and a red cross, indicating a pharmacy

Pharmacies keep regular store hours although the main pharmacy is usually available 24 hours with a special window for after-hour emergencies. A doctor's prescription is required for controlled substances, and even non-controlled substances such as aspirin are available only through the pharmacist. Toiletries such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, lotion, herbal shampoos, etc. are displayed within the customer's reach. Everything except the prescription drugs are also stocked by supermarkets. Foreigners must pay for their prescriptions.
