Restrooms

An in-ground toilet inside a restroom

Although public restrooms do exist, they are not cleaned regularly. One should always carry one's own soap and/or toilet tissue. There are not many "women's" rooms; finding a hotel is a quick solution for a woman in search of a facility. Indian style toilets are common. They are flat to the ground; one squats with one's back to the flushing tank.

Water conservation is taken seriously, so showers are not common. Rather one uses a bucket with a mug and soap in a tub area with a drain. It is common practice to bathe daily.
