Food Shopping

A small fruit store at night

In Greece, there are super and medium-sized supermarket chain stores, easily found in both cities and towns. These offer meats and produce as well as small household amenities. Each neighborhood has a local grocery store that sells produce, meats and canned goods, often at a higher price for convenience.

On specific days, each neighborhood has an open market that sells fruits, vegetables, meats, fish, eggs, and sometimes dairy products. Clothing is also sometimes sold at open markets. One can also shop selectively at specialty shops such as bakeries and butcher shops that sell meat, poultry and fish.
