Lodging
Hotels in the larger cities range from luxurious to smaller, more modest accommodations. In smaller towns, hotels will be less expensive; however, the amenities in the smaller hotels will be fewer - there will be no pool, and the rooms will not be as large.
In cities and towns, there are pensiones - lodgings where a single room can be rented and where it is common to share a bathroom with other guests. There is not usually food served in a pensione.
Youth hostels are available to international travelers and are listed in a directory. Larger, more popular islands such as Mykonos offer the same type of accommodations as the cities. On smaller islands, it is typical to either rent a house, apartment or a room from local families who have accommodations available.
