Cars and Driving

Car rental is common in the Czech Republic, with rental agencies located both at airports and throughout cities. Drivers must be at least 18 and have a license.

Parking poses no problem. It is best to park in a security lot, where there is far less risk of car theft than if one parks on the street. One should always lock a vehicle and take all goods (including the stereo) from the car. Parking in a secure lot requires either a ticket or paying the attendant upon entering.

Gas stations are self-serve, and credit cards are accepted. One can also wash the car's windows, get air, purchase snacks from the little store at the station, and use the restroom.
