Driving a Car

Car rental agencies can be found in almost all cities and towns as well as at the airport. Renting a car is very expensive by U.S. standards. Most rental agencies accept major credit cards. Drivers must be at least twenty-one years old, must have at east five years of driving experience, and show a valid driver's license.

In Croatia, one drives on the right side of the road. The most difficult aspect of driving is finding one's way around. Streets and highways are often not labeled or numbered. Directional signs give city and town names so it is necessary to know the cities and towns along the desired route. Gas stations are plentiful and good places to ask directions.
