Hotels are the most common form of lodging in Croatia. They come in 3 categories: A,B and C, with A being the most luxurious. Most hotels have restaurants and offer a variety of meal plans ranging from breakfast only to full board. The clerk will need a form of identification for everyone checking in. Note that especially in tourist areas, individuals will stand near bus stations or train stations in order to advertise rooms for rent in their own homes. Unless your knowledge of Croatian is very good, it is better to avoid such situations and head for a reputable hotel.
