Pharmacies sell a wide range of over-the-counter medications for colds, pain, and allergies. Some standard medications such as anti-biotics are also available without prescription. Foreigners with more serious health problems will need a prescription from an emergency room doctor. Toiletry items such as toothpaste or soap are not sold at Croatian pharmacies, but rather are for sale in the grocery store.
