Taxicabs are easy to find in the more affluent urban areas of Bangladesh. One can telephone for them or easily recognize and hail them in the street. Cabs are a more dependable, yet by far more expensive, way to travel and are usually only used when air-conditioning is needed or when there is a safety factor. Women are advised never to take cabs alone at night.
